Shout Radio Music To Sing Along To!

The Show – Big Band, Swing and Boogie music from its inception in the 1920s, through its heyday in the 1930s and 1940s, all the way up to present day Big Bands by way of Electro Swing and Revival Swing.

I’m a former magazine journalist and designer, now earning a crust as a software developer alongside a lifetime spent in the creative arts – including theatre, film and TV – and trained musician (organ, piano, keyboards, french horn and trumpet). Radio is one of the more recent areas I’ve worked in.

My favourite music is wide and varied – classical (all ages and genres), jazz, film, musical theatre, rock and pop – and a personal connection to Big Band (his father played piano in one or two of the less well known bands in the 30s and 40s) has led to a love of the music and the present show. I am happily married to Barbara Dollin who presents Barbara’s Backtrackin’.

When not on the radio, I’m always thinking of new programme ideas, wrestling with a knotty software problem, writing that kids’ novel I’ve always said I’d finish and cooking all sorts of new and tasty dishes for tea.
