A HEARTWARMING tale about a widower who takes a nostalgic journey carrying his wife’s ashes in a suitcase is being screened in a special community cinema.

The Last Bus featuring Timothy Spall will be shown at The Grange Community Theatre in Hartford at 7.30pm on Wednesday, September 22.

This is the first screening after films were cancelled due to the pandemic.

It marks the start of the 14th season of films organised by Tricia Parker and husband Ian to give residents the chance to enjoy a night at the movies closer to home.

Tricia said: “A lot of people who live alone meet their friends. It is much cheaper than going to the cinema.

“Each time we make around £1,000 profit which all goes to local charities.”

In the film, Timothy Spall plays Tom, whose wife Mary has recently died. Using his free local bus pass, he travels from John O’Groats to Land’s End to where they originally lived.

Tickets priced £5 are available from Tricia on 01606 74024 or from Hartford Dry Cleaners on School Lane.
